Canadian healthcare IT developer Karos Health has inked a deal to deploy its Rialto Discover clinical information exchange and storage platform for a large diagnostic imaging repository (DI-r) in Ontario.
Rialto Discover will enable the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) West DI-r project to share imaging studies and reports across the consortium of 20 healthcare facilities in GTA West and central Ontario, according to Karos. The project is cofunded by Canada Health Infoway and eHealth Ontario and is expected to handle more than 3 million exams a year.
It's the first project to use the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Cross-enterprise Document Sharing for Imaging (XDS-I.b) integration profile for sharing imaging results, Karos said.
