The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, announced that it will permanently fund a one-year fellowship position in its radiology informatics fellowship program.
Program director Dr. Bradley Erickson, PhD, made the announcement on SIIMShare, the blogsite of the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM).
The radiology informatics fellowship provides postresidency training in the area of electronic imaging, radiology technology, and teleradiology. Expertise acquired in the program can be applied to academic careers or to private radiology practices.
The program was started in 2000, and to date, two physicians have completed the training.
