The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and its market research subsidiary HIMSS Analytics have published their 2012 Annual Report of the U.S. Hospital IT Market.
The report evaluates more than 113 financial and clinical applications and technologies used by nearly 4,300 hospitals in the U.S.
It includes analyses of hospital IT operating and capital expenses, a next-generation revenue cycle management index, and information about current financial management, financial decision support, IT management, and human resources management issues.
Other areas evaluated include healthcare IT trends in electronic medical record adoption, barcode technology, document management, laboratory information systems, cardiology PACS, and radiology PACS. Healthcare IT environments in the operating room and ambulatory care, nursing, and clinical departments are also analyzed.
