IT software developer mPlexus has unveiled new image sharing and retrieval software at RSNA 2012 in Chicago.
DICOM RadiX allows automated and instant image sharing and retrieval from medical imaging archives. It is integrated with mPlexus DICOM RPE for image sharing between facilities, even disparate healthcare systems and regardless of the handling capability of the receiving machines, according to the company.
Combined with mPlexus DICOM RPE, RadiX is also useful for facilities transitioning to vendor-neutral and cloud archiving. RadiX overcomes the latency issues of wide area networks (WANs) by more aggressively and intelligently managing prefetching. RadiX may also be able to help facilities meet upcoming stage 3 meaningful use criteria, which are likely to include image sharing, according to the company.
