RIS/PACS vendor Medweb has released Medweb Radiology CoBrowser at RSNA 2013 in Chicago.
Medweb Radiology CoBrowser is designed to enable radiologists to communicate and share images and reports with each other and referring physicians. It allows for face-to-face conversations and live streaming of medical images and related patient data for viewing on a single screen.
It features the Medweb SRTC (secure real-time collaboration), which allows radiologists to share a viewer for clinical collaboration or training with shared control of the image viewer while manipulating large complex studies, according to the company. The viewer includes the latest 3D, autosegmentation, structured reports, and virtual vessel navigation, as well as orthopedic templates and live streaming ultrasound studies, all while providing real-time video conferencing to a browser.
Video conferencing can take place over the Web and on mobile devices using IOS and Android with Medweb SRTC. It provides secure cloud- or server-based, HIPAA-compliant medical imaging collaboration across enterprises without navigating through firewalls or reconfiguring PACS servers, according to the company. Radiologists can communicate securely between multiple sites and collaborate with other physicians via video, voice, or cobrowsing.
In other company news, Medweb has successfully implemented the Medweb Multi PACS query engine and viewer that links to multiple PACS throughout the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA).
The Medweb Janus Broker allows users to select, display, and compare the studies from different PACS located in both facilities via a single worklist that is integrated into the Janus Joint Legacy Viewer application.
