Archive software developer and medical informatics firm Candelis has released Katmai, the latest version of its ImageGrid operating system.
Katmai is designed to improve visualization and enable manipulation of virtually any type of medical image from any vendor, including tomosynthesis, 3D ultrasound, MRI, and CT, all from a single workstation, Candelis said. Katmai enhances every Candelis application, adding a more intuitive interface, new features and capabilities, and faster speed and performance, according to the vendor.
Other enhancements include a simplified toolbar, more robust archiving, improved scheduling features, and integration support for Voyant Health's TraumaCad digital templating software, Candelis said. Current Candelis customers under a service contract can receive the upgrade.
In other Candelis news, the company has opened an engineering and support facility in Bellevue, WA. The new office will hire quality assurance engineers, technical support engineers, and software developers to augment the vendor's primary technical team in Newport Beach, CA, and to better serve the firm's installed base in the Pacific Northwest with local resources, Candelis said.
