Fujifilm Medical Systems USA's Synapse Mobility enterprise web viewer has been cleared to operate on U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) networks.
The DOD awards authority to operate (ATO) approval based on a technology's risk-based framework and ability to analyze security controls within its IT environment.
Fujifilm's Synapse viewer can be accessed directly via web browsers or launched directly from the secure electronic health record, according to the company.
After a security assessment, the DOD determined that Synapse Mobility can be configured to meet the DOD 8500 series and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements.
