Foresight Imaging's TIMS Medical division has released a new version of TIMS Consultant at RSNA 2017 in Chicago.
TIMS Consultant allows for real-time video and audio collaboration on any surgery or diagnostic imaging procedure. Multiple high-resolution video sources can be streamed in real-time over networks (local area network, virtual private network, internet, mobile) to support a hospital's operating rooms and diagnostic imaging suites, according to the firm.
Foresight has completely recreated the product, calling it TIMS Consultant 2.0, the company said. The upgrade provides a new, HTML5-based thin client for use with internet browsers on computers and mobile devices, eliminating the need for software installation. Also included are workflow models for open and closed rooms, as well as "knocking" and "do not disturb" functions. One-time invites are supported for external users. The firm also added an interactive, graphical telestration model that includes LivePoint for real-time emphasis, as well as circles, arrows, line segments, and free-hand drawing, all with auto-fade functionality. All transmissions are Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encrypted, and user logins are controlled via Active Directory.
