Agfa HealthCare will showcase augmented intelligence capabilities and a cloud-based storage option for its Enterprise Imaging platform at the upcoming Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) annual meeting in Orlando, FL.
Native and best-of-breed augmented intelligence -- also known as artificial intelligence (AI) -- algorithms will be embedded into the Enterprise Imaging platform. The goal is to allow customers to leverage the platform's rule-based workflow engine to enable intelligent workflows. Agfa said that these embedded applications are in the advanced stages of validation and testing.
In other news, Agfa announced it will now also offer a cloud-based storage option for its Enterprise Imaging platform, as well as onsite and hybrid deployments. The new option is designed to help health systems more efficiently control storage planning, simplify responses to system outages, and support business continuity goals, according to the vendor.
