Enterprise imaging vendor Visage Imaging is offering support and an adapter to Amazon HealthLake Imaging, a new Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-eligible capability from Amazon Web Services (AWS) now being previewed. Amazon HealthLake Imaging helps automate processes for storing, accessing, and analyzing medical imaging data in the cloud at petabyte scale.
The company states that this collaboration will enable providers and researchers to have the ability to aggregate imaging data across the enterprise and better scale its use, making the data available when and where needed. By running medical imaging applications in the cloud, healthcare providers and their software partners will have easier access for clinicians, data sharing for artificial intelligence and machine learning, and storage at lower cost, according to Visage Imaging.
