Radiation-safety equipment developer Biodex Medical Systems has brought the fourth iteration of its radioaerosol delivery system to market. The Venti-Scan IV kit makes the delivery of diethylenetriamine-pentaacetic acid (DPTA) radioaerosol easier and more convenient for technologists, according to the Shirley, NY-based company.
The disposable unit features a small baffle within the nebulizer, which produces a small particle size to ensure homogenous distribution. The kit also includes a pleated HEPA filter that increases surface area and decreases breathing resistance. The delivery kit snaps into a lead-shielded canister for safe and efficient delivery of DTPA radioaerosol.
