Philips Medical Systems North America has acquired biomedical equipment management firm Medcare. Philips believes the purchase of Brooklyn, NY-based Medcare positions the company as a full-service equipment maintenance management provider. The new organization, which will be called Philips Medcare, will allow Philips to expand its programs for multi-vendor maintenance, asset management, and biomedical engineering services, according to Milford, CT-based Philips.
