GE Medical Systems has formed three organizations as part of a new corporate infrastructure. Encompassed in a new unit, GE Medical Systems Healthcare Services, the organizations will focus on the clinical, operational, and financial needs of healthcare institutions, offering services in the asset management, business, clinical, IT, and financial sectors, according to the Waukesha, WI-based vendor. GE expects this business unit to be the fastest-growing segment of GE Medical Systems, contributing more than 50% of total revenue by 2003.
The company's medical imaging business is being expanded to bolster product development and distribution across medical imaging modalities, according to GE. The third unit, GE Medical Systems Information Technologies, was created in September 2000.
