Dear AuntMinnie.com Member,
Don't adjust your computer monitor -- our Letter from the Editor has indeed changed. We think the new design offers a cleaner, less cluttered look that will make it easier for you to find the information youโre looking for.
Our new version includes the same great award-winning content found in the previous edition of Letter from the Editor. AuntMinnie's editorial, educational, and e-commerce content and services are just a few clicks away. And if you have any colleagues who you think might benefit from our twice-weekly updates on all things radiology, feel free to forward this e-mail to them.
We're highlighting several new stories this week on AuntMinnie. In our Imaging Center Digital Community (centers.auntminnie.com) we're focusing on two topics that have been in the limelight of late: reimbursement and medical malpractice insurance.
In the first article, we explain some of the more arcane aspects of the U.S. Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System, which covers Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement to hospital-owned outpatient facilities. The second story discusses progress occurring in the U.S. House of Representatives toward resolving the malpractice insurance crisis by passing a tort-reform bill.
In our MRI Digital Community (mri.auntminnie.com), you'll find a story on a group of New York City researchers who have developed a new, streamlined nomenclature for reporting MRI results. Their list of image descriptors is designed to make it easier for referring physicians to find the images they're looking for when using a PACS.
