The endoscopy division of medical device firm Smith & Nephew has acquired privately held OsteoBiologics.
San Antonio, TX-based OsteoBiologics markets bioabsorbable bone graft substitutes (BGS) in Europe to repair cartilage defects in the knee, and offers its TruFit BGS Plugs in the U.S. as bone-void filler. The products will be added to the arthroscopy portfolio of Andover, MA-based Smith & Nephew and will be sold through its endoscopy division, the company said.
