GE supports Africa health project

Multimodality vendor GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K. has announced a package of in-kind donations of healthcare, water, energy, and electrical system products as part of a program to improve primary healthcare in Africa.

GE is making the donations through a cooperative effort with the Earth Institute at Columbia University in New York City as part of the Millennium Villages Project, an initiative designed to reduce extreme poverty, inequality, and other problems facing developing countries.

The company's contributions will range from healthcare and power generation equipment to water filtration systems, appliances, and lighting. GE will also provide training and support to ensure ongoing use of its equipment. The donations are being provided by the GE Healthcare, GE Infrastructure, and GE Industrial divisions.
