Revenues dip, net loss shrinks at ART

Medical device firm ART Advanced Research Technologies of Montreal reported financial results for the company's third quarter.

For the period (end-September 30), ART posted sales of $268,000 (U.S.), compared to $822,000 in the third quarter of 2006. The company's net loss for the most recent quarter was $2.2 million, compared with a net loss of $3.3 million in the corresponding quarter of 2006.

The firm said that during the quarter it began a transition to a new distribution model for its Optix system that involves a mix of direct and indirect sales. The company has also developed a plan for selling its SoftScan breast imaging system in Europe and Canada.
