The American College of Radiology (ACR) Foundation has launched a relief fund for Haiti to help the country recover from the devastating January 12 earthquake.
The foundation's Haiti Radiology Relief Fund will help supply medical facilities in Haiti with radiology equipment, supplies, materials, and physician and medical physicist volunteers. In announcing the fund, the Reston, VA-based society noted that most of the healthcare infrastructure in Port-au-Prince was destroyed in the disaster.
The ACR is soliciting donations to the fund from the radiology community. All contributions are tax deductible, with contributions made before March 1, 2010, eligible for 2009 or 2010 tax returns. More information is available by clicking here.
