Early breast cancer detection firm First Warning Systems said it has changed its name to Cyrcadia Health to better reflect its core focus and competencies.
Cyrcadia has received $1 million in angel funding to advance its technology, which works by measuring abnormal circadian cellular changes throughout the body via wearable garments.
The firm's wearable iTBra uses a data collection device placed under a bra to collect two to 12 hours of breast cell data, transmitting the results via smartphone.
The $1 million capital infusion will help the company initiate final clinical validation trials in the U.S. starting in November, according to Cyrcadia. The firm intends to launch the product in South Asia and Europe in mid-2015, followed by the U.S. after U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance.
