Disposable products developer Merit Medical Systems reported that new direct operations in Canada and Australia buoyed revenue for the company in its second quarter (end-June 30).
Second-quarter revenues increased 9% to $151.1 million, compared with $138.1 million in the same quarter of 2015. On a constant-currency basis, sales for the quarter advanced 10% over the same quarter a year ago. Net income, based on nongenerally accepted accounting principles (non-GAAP), advanced 5% to $11.5 million, compared with $10.9 million in 2015's second quarter.
For the six-month period, total revenue rose 8% to $289.1 million, compared with $267.7 million in the same period last year. On a constant-currency basis, sales increased 9% over the first half of 2015. Non-GAAP net income increased 5% to $19.8 million, compared with $18.8 million in the same period of 2015.
