Toshiba Medical Systems will adopt the branding of parent company Canon Medical Systems in 2018, according to the president of Toshiba Medical's Korean subsidiary.
In an article in Korea Biomedical Review, Toshiba Medical Systems Korea President Charles Ju confirmed the official corporate name of the medical business would change to Canon Medical Systems next year.
Ju told the news outlet that the merge was slowed due to regulatory review by authorities in China, which delayed Canon's official takeover of Toshiba Medical until December 2016. Other countries had completed their regulatory reviews by mid-2016, according to the article.
