ECRI Institute President and CEO Jeffrey Lerner, PhD, will retire on December 31.
Lerner, who joined the nonprofit organization as vice president for strategic planning in 1984, became CEO in 2001. He managed the ECRI Institute's transition from a medical device evaluation laboratory to a broader health research organization that assesses clinical procedures and drug therapies, as well as creates initiatives in patient safety, according to the organization.
The institute's board of trustees has retained global executive search firm Korn Ferry to conduct the search for Lerner's successor.
