Breast tumor localization technology provider Cianna Medical has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to extend the indication of its Scout reflector to include localization of soft tissue.
The new clearance allows the reflector to also be used to mark soft tissue such as axillary lymph nodes prior to breast cancer treatment, according to the vendor. The Scout reflector does not cause a clinically significant MRI artifact, Cianna noted.
