Carestream Health has moved into the market for personal protective equipment (PPE) by launching a new face shield for frontline healthcare workers.

The 9 x 16-inch shield is designed to be used as supplemental protection for workers in combination with a face mask, goggles, and other forms of PPE. It is available in two models, which vary based on the distance of the shield from the face: The standard model has a distance of 2 inches from the forehead, while an extended model has a 2.5-inch distance, which allows for extra space between the face and the shield to fit bulky eyewear or PPE like dental loupes, glasses, goggles, and larger respirators.
