Disposable medical imaging products supplier EDM Medical Solutions has acquired medical imaging equipment distributor ERI International. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Iowa-based ERI has served ob/gyn departments, 3D/4D ultrasound centers, and outpatient surgery facilities in the U.S. and abroad for over 30 years, according to EDM. The deal will enable current ERI customers to gain access to more products, including infection control products, biopsy supplies, and more, EDM said.
For its part, EDM said it expects the deal will increase its penetration in the medical imaging market in the U.S. and abroad, as well as facilitate a more robust supply chain for its U.S. operation and elevate its negotiating power with suppliers.
The deal is the fifth acquisition for EDM. The firm said its other previous acquisitions included GE Healthcare's Numéris imaging accessories unit in Canada and French radiology accessories company Ondes and Rayons. EDM also recently launched its Latin American business unit -- EDM América Latina.
