Perimeter Medical Imaging AI and California-based Pavilion Surgery Center are highlighting the first commercial placement of the Perimeter S-Series optical coherence tomography (OCT) system in California.
The system received U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance in 2021 and is a medical imaging tool that uses OCT to provide clinicians with cross-sectional, real-time margin visualization of an excised tissue specimen.
The technology will be used under the direction of Dr. Michele Carpenter, a breast surgeon who performs breast conservation and other surgeries at the center.
