ARRS names 2024 journalism fellows

The American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) has named Francis Baffour, MD, and Hyun Soo Ko, MD, as its 2024 fellows in radiology journalism.

Baffour, of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, is the 2024 Melvin M. Figley Fellow in Radiology Journalism; Ko, of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Epworth Medical Imaging in Melbourne, Australia, is the 2024 Lee F. Rogers International Fellow in Radiology Journalism.

Baffour practices as a diagnostic radiologist with expertise in advanced MRI and CT techniques for musculoskeletal imaging. He is associate medical director of the Mayo Clinic Rochester’s CT Clinical Innovation Center.

Ko is a German and Australian board-certified radiologist and holds affiliations with the University of Melbourne and the University of Bonn in Germany. Her research focuses on AI and radiomics to discover predictive imaging biomarkers.

Through hands-on experience with ARRS staff and American Journal of Roentgenology personnel, Baffour and Ko will receive expert instruction in scientific writing and communication, manuscript preparation and editing, peer review processes, journalism ethics, and both print production and digital publication.
