X-ray and mammography firm Instrumentarium Imaging Ziehm has enhanced the image quality of its C-arm with new camera technology. Called full-frame technology, the new feature allows the entire image processing chain to operate in non-interlaced mode. This enhances the product's dynamic range and reduces noise, particularly when imaging moving objects, according to the Helsinki, Finland-based firm.
In addition, high-performance filters, combined with the new non-interlaced technique, reduce the radiation dose received by the patient by 30%, without any loss in image quality, according to Instrumentarium. The full-frame technology of the Ziehm Exposcop 8000 records images in a single sweep, minimizing image interference. Instrumentarium claims that ultra-fine structures become visible with previously unknown quality to produce significantly sharper images with improved contrast.
