Display provider NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display has formed a strategic partnership with La Fox, IL-based display vendor Richardson Electronics. The agreement will allow NEC to deliver its MultiSync MD Series displays in integrated solutions, the companies said at this week's Society for Computed Applications in Radiology (SCAR) meeting in Vancouver.
Cypress, CA-based NEC specializes in high-resolution LCD grayscale monitors, including a planned fall 2004 rollout of its latest MD Series displays. The series will feature NEC's X-Light backlight system, which offers a number of advantages including enhanced control over the whitepoint, which can be adjusted to defined specifications in parallel with brightness levels, the companies said.
The new monitor line will also offer a 21.3-inch 2- and 3-megapixel grayscale display with enhanced black level adjustment for easy control of superior grayscale images, aimed at the x-ray viewing market. Other features include GammaComp technology for smooth, accurate grayscales, ultrathin frame designs for less distraction when viewing images side by side, and an anti-glare/low reflection SA-IPS module for the widest viewing angles with minimal off-angle color shift, NEC and Richardson said.
