Israeli imaging developer Given Imaging has won FDA clearance for a new version of its novel camera-in-a-pill. The new device, M2A Plus, includes software that creates a graphic representation of a patient’s gastrointestinal tract to enable clinicians to pinpoint the location of pathology.
The technology consists of an ingestible pill-sized camera that images the small intestine as it passes through the body’s digestive tract. M2A Plus will be launched at this month’s Digestive Disease Week (DDW) conference in San Francisco May 19-22.
