Hitachi pledges $1 million in hurricane relief

Hitachi, the parent company of multimodality vendor Hitachi Medical, has pledged $1 million in donations for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The Tokyo company said it would make the donations through the Hitachi Foundation, an independent nonprofit organization set up by the company in 1985. The company said its employees are also raising money for hurricane relief.
