Medical imaging technology developer Analogic said it will reduce its workforce by approximately 140 positions, or 9%, worldwide.
The Peabody, MA-based firm said it initiated the reduction due to global economic conditions that continue to put pressure on healthcare capital equipment markets. The layoffs and other cost-reduction initiatives will result in annual savings of approximately $9.6 million, Analogic said.
The company expects to take a restructuring charge of $3.4 million during the fiscal second quarter.
