The American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) is accepting applications for its Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) program. The certification is designed to show competency in key areas such as asset resource management, fiscal management, human resources, operations management, and communication and information management, according to AHRA president Sheila Sferrella.
CRA certification is granted on the basis of a 185-question exam. Approximately 30% of the questions will be based on knowledge, 40% will test application skills, and 30% will involve analysis. Applicants will need to verify that they have the necessary seven points to qualify for the exam. Points are earned for educational degrees, certificate programs, and experience.
The first test will be administered in New Orleans on July 27, the day before the 30th annual AHRA meeting. The test is $300 and the application fee is $50; AHRA membership is not required.
For further information and an exam application and study guide, contact the AHRA at 800-334-2472 or www.ahraonline.org. The program is funded by a five-year grant from Eastman Kodak Health Imaging of Rochester, NY.
