Healthcare services provider HealthSouth of Birmingham, AL, has agreed to sell its diagnostic division to private equity firm the Gores Group of Los Angeles.
HealthSouth's diagnostic division is currently comprised of a network of 54 freestanding diagnostic imaging centers in 19 states and Washington, DC. Approximately 80% of the centers are multimodality facilities offering a combination of MRI, CT, x-ray, ultrasound, mammography, fluoroscopy, and nuclear medicine services, according to HealthSouth.
The purchase price for the division was approximately $47.5 million, the principals reported.
