A bill that would put a moratorium on reimbursement cuts mandated by the Deficit Reduction Act (DRA) of 2005 has been introduced in the U.S. Senate.
Senators Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) and Gordon H. Smith (R-OR) on May 8 introduced the Access to Medicare Imaging Act of 2007 (S. 1338). The bill would implement a two-year moratorium on DRA cuts while the Government Accountability Office studies their impact on Medicare patients.
A similar bill, H.R. 1293, has already been introduced in the House of Representatives.
