Expanded service offerings buoyed revenues for radiation therapy center operator US Oncology in the second quarter (end-June 30), while reduced U.S. reimbursement took its toll on profits.
Revenue totaled $753.4 million, down 9% compared with $689.4 million in the second quarter of 2006. The Houston-based company posted a net loss of $364,000, compared with net income of $8.6 million in year-ago quarter.
For the six-month period, revenue increased to $1.48 billion, up 6% from $1.39 billion in the same period of 2006. The company also reported a net loss of $15.9 million, compared with net income of $16.2 million in the first half of last year.
