Canadian firm to buy U.S. center chain

Canadian healthcare firm CML HealthCare Income Fund has signed a deal to acquire American Radiology Services (ARS), a Baltimore-based operator of 17 imaging centers.

CML would pay $151 million (U.S.) for ARS, which operates centers in Maryland and Delaware and provides teleradiology services under 25 contracts in seven states. ARS expects to produce fiscal 2007 revenues of $142 million (U.S.).

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2008.
