AuntMinnie.com Imaging Center Insider

Dear Imaging Center Insider,

It's unfortunate that news of healthcare abuses has become more and more common these days. And sometimes the news involves imaging technologies that could have potential if they weren't besmirched by unethical users.

Breast thermography is one of those technologies. Though it has been around for a while, it hasn't taken off, in part because some of its practitioners make exaggerated claims about what it can do. Click here to read our story on an Oregon clinic that's been shut down because its owners were promising clients that thermography could replace mammography.

When you've finished, check out the rest of our Imaging Center Digital Community news, especially how radiologist salaries went up in 2008, what experts say about avoiding pitfalls when integrating PACS and digital mammography, and how the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has rejected coverage for virtual colonoscopy procedures.

As always, if you have a comment or report to share about any aspect of diagnostic imaging practice, management, administration, regulation, or financing, please contact me at [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you.
