Imaging services provider RadNet has posted mixed results for the third quarter (end-September 30).
Third-quarter revenues increased 2% to $133.4 million, compared with $130.9 million in the third quarter of 2008. The company also reported a loss of $1.7 million, compared with net income of $138,000 in last year’s third quarter.
On a same-center basis, including only centers that were part of RadNet for both the third quarters of 2009 and 2008, MRI volume increased 5.4%, CT volume rose 4%, and PET/CT volume gained 4.3%.
For the nine-month period, revenues totaled $392.6 million, up 6% compared with $371.3 million in the same period of 2008. The net loss was $2.9 million, compared with a net loss of $7.5 million in the year-ago period.
For the first nine months of 2009, MRI volume increased 9.9%, CT volume increased 7.5%, and PET/CT volume increased 5.1%.
