The American College of Radiology (ACR) has recognized Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ, and Mount Desert Island Hospital in Bar Harbor, ME, as its first ever Diagnostic Imaging Centers of Excellence (DICOE).
To receive this award, facilities must be accredited by ACR in all modalities they provide, and in which ACR offers an accreditation program. An onsite team then reviews all aspects of the facility's operations, including criteria such as personnel, equipment specifications, outcomes measurement and quality control systems, safety policies, utilization reviews, facility management, and patient outcomes, according to ACR.
