ICD-10 codes will be adopted on October 1, and the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is offering support.
CMS plans to monitor the transition in real-time and address any issues raised at its ICD-10 Coordination Center. For support, healthcare providers can take the following steps:
- Make use of CMS' Road to 10 Web page, which has general ICD-10 information and free resources, such as the ICD-10 quick start guide, customized ICD-10 action plans, videos, and frequently asked questions.
- Contact a Medicare Administrative Contractor.
- Email CMS' ICD-10 Coordination Center.
- Contact Dr. Bill Rogers, ICD-10 ombudsman.
