Emory University said it has appointed Dr. Jonathan Lewin as president and CEO of its Emory Healthcare hospital system, beginning February 1.
Lewin's new role will also include serving as Emory's executive vice president for health affairs as well as executive director for the university's Woodruff Health Sciences Center, and chair of the Emory Healthcare board of directors, the university said.
Lewin comes from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore with an excellent track record in innovative and high-impact research, patient care, and administrative ability, said Emory University President James Wagner.
Lewin currently serves as senior vice president for integrated healthcare delivery and co-chair for strategic planning at Johns Hopkins Medicine. He is also professor of radiology at the university, with secondary appointments as professor of oncology, neurosurgery, and biomedical engineering, Emory said.
