The University of Virginia (UVA) Health System in Charlottesville and imaging services provider Foundation Radiology Group have inked a radiology and medical imaging services partnership agreement aimed at expanding access to subspecialty radiology interpretations in Virginia.
Along with creating a new adaptable radiology practice model, the partnership will enable UVA Health System's department of radiology and medical imaging to better address its clinical, research, and educational missions, said department chair Dr. Alan Matsumoto in a statement. In addition, subspecialty interpretation support from Foundation will enhance the radiology services UVA provides to patients in Charlottesville and throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, according to Dan Wassilchalk, chief operating officer at UVA Radiology.
The partnership will also utilize Foundation's proprietary IT platform, which can fully integrate multiple hospitals across networks -- facilitating workflow, image visualization, and data exchange, the company said.
