CBO scores bipartisan Obamacare proposal

The U.S. Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has released its cost estimate for the Alexander-Murray Bipartisan Health Care Stabilization Act of 2017, a proposal sponsored by Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA).

The CBO projects that the legislation would reduce the deficit by $3.8 billion over the 2018 to 2027 budget window and would not substantially change the number of people with health insurance coverage. It also estimated that enacting the legislation would not increase net direct spending or on-budget deficits in any of the four consecutive 10-year periods beginning in 2028.
