Imaging services provider RadNet has formed a joint venture with MemorialCare, a healthcare delivery system with five hospitals and more than 200 care sites in Southern California.
The venture has 34 outpatient medical imaging centers spanning Orange County, Long Beach, South Bay, and other areas, and it will become Southern California's largest imaging network, according to the firm.
Operations begin on January 1 with RadNet contributing 24 existing outpatient imaging centers and MemorialCare contributing 10. At the start of the new year, RadNet will manage day-to-day operations of the facilities and provide administration and back-office support functions on behalf of the partners. All centers will adopt RadNet's eRAD RIS.
Also, MemorialCare intends to purchase five breast imaging centers in Orange County and Long Beach from the joint venture to expand access to breast screening and diagnostic services, the firm said.
