The U.S. National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) has made its Understanding Medical Scans smartphone application available in Spanish.
Using question-based navigation, images, and videos, the app can facilitate patient understanding of medical imaging scans and the various ways in which radiology scans assist clinicians with diagnosis and treatment. It is designed to be highly accessible by the layperson and may help patients ask more informed questions, according to NIBIB.
The app is free to download on both Apple and Android phones.
