Outpatient radiology group SimonMed Imaging confirmed that it has received an investment by private equity firm American Securities.
While SimonMed did not disclose the size of the investment, news coverage is portraying the deal as an acquisition, with American Securities paying $600 million for the company.
They said in a statement that SimonMed will use the investment to "support continued growth." SimonMed currently operates 147 imaging centers in 11 states. The company was founded in 2002 by radiologist Dr. John Simon.
