Dear AuntMinnie Member,
The annual meeting and exposition of the AHRA wrapped up this week in Nashville, TN, marking the successful completion of one of the first in-person conferences in radiology since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our RADCast @ AHRA special section featured coverage of a range of important radiology practice management topics, but it was a talk on regulatory changes and cybersecurity that topped the list of our most-viewed stories from AHRA 2021.
In today's challenging environment, economic concerns are always front and center. So it's not surprising that our second most-popular story included tips on effective management of coding and compliance. Meanwhile, an article on MRI safety also generated significant page views.
Attendees also heard about how trying to earn an award can be a great way to make progress on continuing performance improvement. In addition, healthcare simulation can be an invaluable method for helping radiology departments tackle safety, quality, and efficiency issues, according to another presentation. What's more, a hospital's patient scheduling initiative brought significant improvements in radiology workflow and metrics, while also increasing staff satisfaction.
Other reports making our top 10 list of AHRA 2021 stories include how radiology administrators can deal with regulatory complexity and suggestions on how radiology practices can deliver the highest quality care while remaining financially stable. Our final article on the list highlighted the best way to plan for capital projects.
