The American College of Radiology (ACR) is joining in an effort to urge Congress to further delay looming Medicare payment cuts.

A current moratorium in Medicare payment cuts is part of the December 2021 Protecting Medicare and American Farmers from Sequester Cuts Act, which authorized a delay of 2% Medicare sequester payment reductions through March 31, followed by another, 1% reduction in Medicare sequester payment reduction through June 30.

If no congressional action is taken by July 1, the 2% reduction will go into effect, the ACR said.

An appropriations bill is scheduled to be debated in Congress this month and could be used to address the problem of the payment cuts, according to the college.
