RSNA urges radiologists to vote for AMA house seats

Radiology is in danger of losing its lobbying voice in the American Medical Association’s House of Delegates, according to the RSNA. The RSNA is calling on all radiologists and radiation oncologists to cast their electronic ballots to determine how many delegates a specialty will have in the AMA body.

For every 1,000 radiology votes the AMA receives, radiology’s representative society, the American College of Radiology, could potentially have one additional delegate. Votes can be cast at the AMA’s ballot Web site. In order to vote, a birth date and one of the following must be provided:

  • U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number
  • Medical license number
  • Eleven-digit medical education number

The deadline for voting is March 15, 2002. Questions about the balloting process should be directed to Jan Cox at the AMA Section Council on Radiology, 1-800-227-5463, ext. 4914.
